Gartnavel hospital in Glasgow has upgraded their cryotherapy service with the installation of a Galil Medical VisualIce cryotherapy system. Funding for the upgrade was provided through the kind generosity of the Green Ribbon Renal Cancer Charity.
The hospital has now treated in excess of 100 patients with renal tumours from throughout Scotland since commencing the renal cryotherapy service in 2010 and the Radiographic team have recently received an award for this service. The new VisualIce system will enable the hospital to continue to develop their cryotherapy service and the system will be maintained by DAAX - the UK appointed distributor for Galil Medical (NOTE DAAX has now ceased distributing Galil medical).
Members from the Urology and Radiology teams are pictured with Mrs Christy Swankie from Green Ribbon Renal Cancer Charity at the handover of the Galil Medical VisualIce cryotherapy system.
